Types of EQS Charging

You can either take advantage of one of the many Alamo Heights-area public charging stations or use a home charger to recharge your EQS. Public charging stations typically offer fast DC charging, although they may also have AC charging available. At home charging will be AC only. Take a look at the following EQS charging times for both AC and DC below:

EQS Charging Time: 2023 EQS 450+ AC Charging

  • AC charging speed (240v, 32A): 9.6 kW
  • AC charging connector type: J1772
  • AC charging time (0-100%): 12.5 hours

EQS Charging Time: 2023 EQS 450+ DC Charging

  • DC charging speed (480v, 300A): 200 kW
  • DC charging connector type: Combined Charging System (CCS)
  • DC charging time (10-80%): 31 minutes

Can the EQS Use a Tesla Charger?

There are different chargers, many that are proprietary to the brand of a particular EV model, and you may notice this when you stop at a public charging station. Can the EQS use a Tesla charger? Yes. Your EQS can utilize low-powered Tesla chargers using a J1772 adapter. A Tesla-to-J1772 adapter lets other electric cars charge up with either a Tesla Wall Connector or Tesla Mobile Connector. You may even find charging locations with both Tesla Wall Connectors and J1772 outlets, so you won’t need an adapter.

EQS Miles Per Charge

Now that you have an idea about the EQS charge time, you no doubt are curious about the EQS miles per charge. With a full charge, the 2023 EQS 450+ has an electric range of 305 miles*. If you use a DC charger, you get 10 to 80% of charge in 31 minutes, which is 174 to 186 miles. Whether you’re driving around town in Shavano Park or heading out on a road trip, the EQS miles per charge will provide peace-of-mind by delivering plenty of power between charging points.
